Out of the piles and piles of split 7"-ers that came out in the '90s featuring two moderately interesting indie rock bands, here's another one. I kinda don't like the Chisel song all that much, but the Velocity Girl track -- which is a Pastels cover, btw -- has a near-perfect drum sound, which makes me happy when I listen to it. So there's that, I guess. You'll notice that I only own the second pressing, which makes me only half as cool as you thought I was. Go read Wilfully Obscure or something, the link's right over there.

Saw VG at a bar (The Hurricane?) in Lincoln, NE in 1994. They were good. Opening band was Jale from Canada.
Lincoln Nebraska??
Yeah I went to college there.
Wicked
(alternate answer: "Your mom goes to college")
Yeah Lincoln is where I went from being "kid who does nothing in Ridgefield, CT" to "kid who goes to punk shows and stuff." In fact I think the Velocity Girl show was the one where I realized I better start wearing earplugs or I'll be completely deaf in a year.
Ironically it wasn't until a few years later that I learned that while I was ensconced in the LinOma (Lincoln/Omaha, come on) scene, Danbury had been busy not becoming the next Seattle right under my summers/holidays nose.
Carry on the excellent works guys I have incorporated you guys to my blogroll.
It is perfect time to make some plans for the future and it is time to be happy.
Oh, I get it -- you're a fortune cookie.
