Nice list. I too love the Drunkdriver LP, and the last time I saw them in Baltimore was amazing. I hope Kristy starts/joins another band, she is such a great guitar player
I wanted to see Drunkdriver twice in the past year, and both shows got cancelled. The first show got shut down by the cops before they even played (I still went out to their van and bought records, though), and the second time was because they had just broken up.
Vox (where I used to host my listen-only files) has shut down as of Sept. 30th 2010, so now all of the listen-only files on the older blog posts will no longer work when you click on them.
For the record, I have not only lost my ability to take a joke, but I can also no longer sense danger, communicate with sea animals, see through walls, transform myself into a bucket of water or block of ice, burn a batter's bat to ashes with my fastball, fly an invisible plane, nor start fires and cause seismic waves using only mind control.
You can browse this blog and listen to the songs without having to download them first, by clicking on the highlighted song titles. The files will open in a new window; you can either hit "Play", or you can click on "Download" up in the righthand corner to download them to your computer, which is the preferred method, because there's usually a cool graphic (or sometimes even lyrics) when you play the files using Windows Media Player.
Also, clicking on the photos will enlarged them. I guess some people haven't figured that out yet.
Ad policy
The labels that have enough money to buy advertising all put out shitty records
"British bass music clings to few modern regulations. As grey areas become inviting, zones of conflict are transformed into fertile new ground. Nedry are dictating a path that recognizes no genre, no structures, no rules. Ripping progressive dance culture out of the bedroom producers' smoke stained confines and planting it resolutely on the live stage, Matt Parker and Chris Amblin utilize MPC, laptops, guitars and synths to create a deep, thoughtful musical space."
8 smart-ass remarks:
Wow, I'm out of touch with a lot of new releases ad I had no idea there was a drunkdriver LP this year.
The Drunkdriver LP came out fairly quietly-- they got dropped by Load Records and the band ended up releasing the record themselves.
It's probably my favorite record of the year, though.
you know why they got dropped, right?
Yeah, most people are aware of it, but I'm not getting into it.
I hate everything about 2010... except for the things I don't hate.
I like our President. And my family.
You're OK too, I guess.
Gee, that's one of the nicest things anyone's said to me all month.
Merry Christmas to everyone...
