Almost nothing can touch the earth-churning power of the first two New Bomb Turks LPs, but some of the early NBT singles from that era bring a somewhat different lo-fi racket-- almost as if they were trying out to be The Mummies or something, while still pounding holes in the floor like a motherfucker.
"Youngblood", the b-side here (and a Headcoats cover), is on the "Pissing Out The Poison" CD but "Bottle Island"* isn't, so grab it while the grabbin's good.
*which is a TJSA cover. There, I mentioned it
New Bomb Turks -
"Bottle Island"
"Youngblood"

So you credit Thee Headcoats for writing "Youngblood" but severely diss Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments by not crediting them for writing "Bottle Island?"
Man, that's harsh.
TJSA just can't get no respect . . .
Man, I love TJSA! (tho' I only got Bait & Switch and Negative Guest List) - I'm just a bit sloppy, that's all...
Oddly enough, I just checked the label on the 45 and it credits Bottle Island to the New Bomb Turks.
Well, B.I. was one of two songs on the TJSA side of a split 7" w/Monster Truck 5 that came out in 1991; it was their first release.
There's a CD called Hey.......You Lookin' for Treble? that compiles their half of that plus their follow-up 7" EP, the You Can't Kill Stupid 12" EP that you had to write the band to acquire (for free!) and a few extras. Get that plus the Straight to Video and No Old Guy Lo-Fi Cry CDs and you'll have all of their stuff save some 7"s. It's all killer.
Mr. HCI, you're way ahead of me in that department.
The mp3 files on this post are now listen-only (non-downloadable) files. TOUGH SHIT, HIPPIE! No, actually, for those of you who missed the boat, I will do my best to respond to any e-mailed requests for the original files.
