Let Down Again

This is a tape of some new songs that Royal Headache put together to sell at their Australian shows last year; they also put a small handful of copies up for sale on their website, which is how this one happened to fall into my lap. I'm not too thrilled with my rip of it, but then again it sounds like a practice tape or something that was recorded on a boombox, anyway. A couple of the songs here are a bit too speedy and not very interesting -- well, maybe it's just the first track that's like that -- but the 2nd and 4th tracks ("Stand and Stare" and "I Need You"/"Let Down Again", maybe?) are up to the standard set by their LP from last year, and are well worth a listen. The fifth and last track appears like it's just about to settle into a nice extended groove when all of a sudden it cuts off; I guess when they were dubbing the tapes, they didn't buy blanks that were long enough. The tape didn't come with a track listing so I'm posting it as one 10-minute long mp3, since I don't know the real song titles anyway.

I only published that comment because I think "rattling wonderful" is an excellent phrase.

great band, good live act too. thanks for posting this--unfortunately this tape doesn't do them justice.

It's kinda like if you were sitting on the couch while they were practicing in the next room over. A couple of the songs are really good, though.
