Not much to say about Safe To Swim Weekend this year; all the bands that I felt were worth seeing had after-hours slots at Larry's or the Heirloom, when S2SW2 moves indoors after dark, so I went to the outdoors part of the fest on the Danbury Green earlier today and snapped a couple of shots of River City Extension (Toms River, NJ) and Welcome (New Haven, CT), then quickly split when the Killers/U2 wannabe-rock of The Honors hit the main stage.
Some cool flyers this year (featuring the always-amazing photography of Mike Marques) and a great set-up as usual; Malcolm was there at one of the vendor tables and I bought a copy of the Bedlam LP, so that made the whole trip worth it. See you in 2010!

the first Bedlam LP or Lost In Space?
I didn't make it down there til later, (wasn't it about time TENT finally cut his hair? Cripes he was headin' into Gallagher territory)!
It was the "Total Bedlam" self-titled one... which I'd remembered as having an open folded-up sleeve, but the one I bought from Malcolm the other day has a regular sealed jacket.
Been a while since I've heard it, looking forward to crankin' it... "It's just PLJ with a tube!!!"
Yeah, Malcolm looks like Mel Gibson now.
For better or worse, I believe Bedlam is the band I've seen more than any other band. and so it shall remain unless anna paquin starts a band.
I was in Bedlam (occasionally). I grew up with Tom the guitar player (who was also in Mourning Noise). He was also in East Paterson Boy's Choir (pre-AOD) with me, jack, and paul.
I always loved Unemployment Club. "gamble and deal, extort and steal!"
This short-haired Malcolm world is frightening and confusing.
Won't be seeing you in 2010, after all; constant problems with permits and the city and other stuff add up to mean that there won't be a Safe To Swim 3 this year.
