You Have Come Around At The Wrong Time

click for enlarged view

For a band that didn't seem to get a lot of notice, Helikopter left behind a pretty good track record, including a monster CD called "Sofa Charmer" that was released in 1996, just as the band was breaking up. "Limbo"/"Transister" (note the label/sleeve screw-ups, the kinda stuff you'd normally figure only a completely inattentive label like Sub Pop would be capable of) came out a few years earlier, and both songs are suitably over-the-top and completely rocked in a way that could conceivably fit in on either of the first two Dinosaur albums. This one deserves to be played at maximum volume, if only to pummel your ears with the kind of gloriousness that only a bunch of weed farmers shouting over loud guitars can bring.

No comments on this one? This is a cool record.

Anyway, the mp3 files on this post are now listen-only (non-downloadable) files. They've been moved to my Vox account, where you can also find about 5 or 6 songs from the Helikopter "Sofa Charmer" CD if you look around enough.

For those of you who missed the boat, I will do my best to respond to any e-mailed requests for the two original 7" files.
