Just Give Me Another Month

"Make It Up To You" has always been my favorite post-Jim Bryson era Punchbuggy song, but now that I've heard the rest of "My Norwegian Cousin" (thanks to a 99-cent bargain bin find-- score!), nothing else on the album is really sinking in with me... although "Karen" sorta sounds like Cheap Trick, almost. You know you're in for some massive bullshit when a one-time punk band starts listing a horn section and two different make-up artists in the album credits*. Fortunately, Punchbuggy pulled out of it long enough to make their swan song, 2002's "The Great Divide", a heckuva lot more bearable. For now, though, here's the best song on an otherwise terrible CD; hope you like it.

You really need to go back and listen to the last song, "Hooked on Spectravision." What nerve to say "Make It Up to You" is the only keeper!

I don't know-- that one hasn't sunk in with me yet, either.

There's maybe two or three songs on this CD that start out sorta passable, but then after the first verso or so I was saying "Nope, not into it."

I'm leaving it open for you to post the whole thing eventually on Willfully Obscure. Then everyone else will be able to see if I'm wrong or not.

I can't remember I saw a nice set of dreads like that on a dude.

Yeah, I was thinking something similar-- how the Doughboys used to have dreads like that, too. Must be a Canadian punk band thing.

The mp3 file on this post is now a listen-only (non-downloadable) file.
