I Work All Day Selling Records To Assholes

A new Prisonshake album due to come out sometime this spring; they say "double LP", but I've heard that one before. In advance of the release of the LP, Scat has issued a special colored vinyl single/CD package-- limited to 200-- which includes an LP track plus several other non-LP goodies. Even after the colored vinyl sells out you'll still be able to buy the black vinyl edition of the single (without the CD) for just a buck-and-a-half, so scoot on over to the Scat web site for more details.

I'm gonna post the LP track here, not only because it really started to grow on me after the first handful of listens, but also because Enkler's lyric is particularly spot-on for anyone who's ever flipped their way through the dusty viny LP bins at a record store, the way "we" used to do it back in the "old days" (you know-- 5 or 6 weeks ago, or whenever it was the last time I went to either Brass City Records or Redscroll).

Some say that rock 'n roll has died,
And at times like this I wish they were right...

No one gets a twilight to their career any more,
No one gets the chance to make
Mediocre record number four

Entire records of Third Song, Side Two
Please save some rack space for my wretched solo debut

Yeah, and when they bring back the cut-out bin,
Save a spot for us right behind the Pretty Things

"The Cut-Out Bin"

First off, crippling admiration for the blog..keep the cleaver shaped state on the map! I got my first Prisonshake at Brass City sometime around 91? I recently played Moonshake on a radio show I do, then reminded myself of Prisonshake..got a caller saying he liked "that shake band", and I asked "prison or moon"? This immediately lead to bestowing the brand new band with the moniker Prison Or The Moon. Its a small world after all! (and yeah, Small is pretty much the most underrated Chapel Hill band this side of Rubbermaid!) - Sean, Wires In The Walls

Thanks for the admiration, by the way... anyone who's a customer of Brass City Records and buys Prisonshake records is certainly welcome around here.

The mp3 file on this post is now a listen-only (non-downloadable) file. For the time being you can still buy the Nice Price EP from Scat, as well as the Dirty Moons double LP, so get on it.
