I Found A New Way

photo swiped from Higgins MySpace page

It's not often something decent shows up in my in-box (I thought The Steps were okay at first and then I quickly got over it), but "Yes I Know" from New Jersey's Higgins is pure Chris Bell/Big Star worship, much in the same way that The Knickerbockers "Lies" sounds just like The Beatles. The low-calorie bridge isn't doing much for me, but the rest is straight aces.

everybody knows the Beatles were just manufactured to help sell Monkees records and pot.

I know this too...the Knickerbockers got their name from Knickerbocker Avenue in North Bergen, NJ.

You should be using "Bruce Best", seeing as you got left off the Anthrax Club trailer.

Don't try to change the subject...away from your Monkees website.

I was even thinking this song sounds a bit like "No Matter What" by Badfinger.

But, you know, The Monkees had one good song, too (the one that Minor Threat wrote)...

Just wait'll you see who I post about next. I blamed you when I told them how I'd heard about them.

Why didn't everyone cover "She" like the Dickies did instead of "Steppin' Stone"?

...ah-ha! I know this next one!

Wow, I just noticed that we already covered this "Stepping Stone"/Dickies "She" thing in another comment string months ago... it's like we're a Nick at Nite Greatest Hits package or something...
