I'll fess up that yesterday (Jan. 6, 2009) is when I finally broke down and listened to the Lemuria album, giving in to my curiosity as to why it kept showing up on year-end "Best of" lists pretty much everywhere. Turns out this thing is awesome, sounding almost exactly like Velocity Girl (who I didn't like at the time, go figure), or like The Yips crossed with The Warmers and cleaned up for the pop-punk kids who would otherwise have no frickin' clue. I almost wish that Lemuria had been recommended by at least one person along the way with a trustworthy taste in music, because then I might've listened to it sooner. Phew, so it wasn't my fault after all.

Fuck you.
Aha! You knew it was good all along, didn't you, Jim? (Though I don't think it was you personally who reviewed it, so that's my 'out' right there.)
You should be happy, you won the Lottery today.
Actually I reviewed the album and interviewed the band... but who's counting?
Yeah, I just went and read that interview for the first time. It's pretty good.
OK, you're forgiven.
And just in case anybody else reads this thing...

A funny thing, Jim: Lemuria played in New Haven twice in '08, and I blew it off both times. You even e-mailed me about one of the shows, but it was with The Queers, who really suck now anyway. So I didn't go.
Obviously I should've been paying better attention, but everyone else who's been touting this band is normally full of shit about these things.
The mp3 file on this post is now a listen-only (non-downloadable) file. It's now being hosted on my Vox account (accessible through the above listen-only link), along with a few other songs from "Get Better" that I threw on there.
Great album, I hear it the other day and it is a different kind of music, easy listening.
Great post
Wow, the Viagra Team is ganging up on me.
