I'm Getting Good At Letting People Down

This single came with the second issue of Seven 'zine, right around when Starvation Army were beginning to de-evolve from a pretty good Clevo/Radio Birdman-styled p-rock outfit into hard rock/metal. Even still, "Nasty Bit of Work" moves a ton of ass, helped along by an awesome glam riff and some quality work from Fraser Sims-- a completely underrated vocalist who always managed to not sound like anyone else. The sleeve to the record was actually a 7-1/2" x 8" pocket folder with an 8-page Starvation Army interview stitched into the middle of it, while the zine itself was a combination of several booklets-- including a short story written by Sims-- and postcards, with the whole thing being thrown into a polybag. I'm including a full scan of the interview (even though I know nobody reads those things), so dig it.

Any chance of a New Way To Burn repost? We're closing in my birthday, y'know...

Oops, and I think I still owe you the JT/Original Sins mp3... New Way to Burn is easy, I still have the files on my computer (tho I only ripped 2 of the songs).

Oh, I found someone to rip my OS 7" for me, thank you for remembering!

And our mutual friend spavid graciously shared the Yankees lp.

Small world :-)

I didn't know he had the Yankees LP... I don't think he posted it?

I was surprised that so many people wanted to hear that crummy record.

Wonders of soulseek.

The Yankees lp is not crummy. Not life-altering, but not crummy! Funny how our great tastes don't always overlap - I'm quite sure you're nowhere near as fond of Miracle Legion's 'Surprise, Surprise, Surprise' as I am... hmm... I need to revisit Connecticut bands that Dave has NOT posted... ;-)

Oh, god, Miracle Legion. All that '80s New Haven college rock stuff was borderline awful.

I still have a Cameraface 12" that I haven't ripped yet. And a bunch of other things... heck, I'm literally only about halfway through my record collection. I thought I'd get to around 700 posts and be done already. It's taking a lot longer than I thought!

Or "Miracle Agent", as I think Flipside called them once.
